He was presented as a soloist with the Bilbao and Barcelona Symphony Orchestras in 1957, and won several international prices in Brussels (Queen Elisabeth), Lisboa (Vianna da Motta) and Rio de Janeiro, among others. He is one of the most important pianists of his generation, performing arround Europe, America and Japan performing as a soloist as well as a chamber music player.
He gives special attention to contemporari composers, performing piano concertos by Xavier Montsalvatge, Robert Gerhard and Luis de Pablo, Graciane Finzi, Tom Ingoldsby and several works by Guinjoan, Brotons, Blancafort and Lamote de Grignon, among others.
He has recorded the Luis de Pablo piano concertos with orchestra(Hispavox) and Roberto Gerhard (Harmonia Mundi), a CD with piano works by Déodat de Séverac (Columna Música), strings and piano sonatas by Lluis Benejam (AVS), and Pau Casals and Gaspar Cassadó sonatas(Columna Música). With the Trio de Barcelona he recorded the piano Trios by Mendelssohn, Dvorak, and the Beethoven Triple Concert (Harmonia Mundi

Albert Attenelle is the director and founder of Escola de Música de Barcelona and the Curs d’interpretació instrumental de Barcelona. He is also professor at the Conservatori Superior de Música de Liceu since 2006. He is regularly invited as a jury in international piano competitions and master-classes like the Universitat de A Coruña.
He has published an Urtext edition of la Suite Iberia by Isaac Albéniz.
