John was born in Tokio (Japan) in 1967. At the age of ten begins playing the trumpet with the Suzuki method. Emigrates to the US, where he works with Charles Butler, member of the the Israel Symphony Orchestra.
Due to a scholarship in The Eastman School of Music in New York, he works with Charlie Geyer from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and performs with Wynton Marsalis during the recording of the Carnival. In 1989 gets a position in The Hong-Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, where he also teach in the Academy of Performing Arts.
In 1991 comes to Europe to work with the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra. He also collaborates with the Hannover Opera Orchestra, and the Bach Launenburg Orchestra, Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, etc. Since 1992 has the principal trumpet position in the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia and he is the founder of the Coruña Brass. During the Summers of 2000 and 2001 he is invited with the Seattle Opera, to the Richard Wagner’s “ The Ring” cicle.
